Spring Has Sprung

Updated: Apr 6, 2018

Definitely not as noticeable as in Canada, but Spring has arrived in California. Sure there isn't any snow needing to melt and it's green here year-round but we spent most of this winter season in Canada.

Though mom and I enjoyed frequent hikes in Canada, it was during the Fall and Winter months we enjoyed hiking the most - Spring usually brings showers and Summer can be too hot (mom is also not keen to be in the company of mosquitos, though they seem to love hers).

In California's dry climate, we don't have to worry about mosquitos that much, but the sun feel intense in the day. Mom and I opt to go hiking in the early mornings at trails located within 4 miles (about 6 km in Canadian terms) of home. A couple of our regulars include Mystic Canyon Trail and Poopout Trail (appropriately named).

Mom and I are still working on finding our balance - Between her wanting to get her cardio up and me wanting to sniff at every turn, it can be a bit of a power struggle. It seems however, while I take care of my peemail correspondence, mom is also learning "to stop and smell...".
